While marketing is sharp edge, sales is the device that sharpen the edge. Without one the other is nothing. Without sales, marketing is like disposable blade. You can use it for some time to get the results. But after fewer use you need sales to sharp the edge.
Without marketing, sales are nothing. Sales have skill to sharp the edge but it cannot do it without marketing. Sales and marketing team has to coordinate each other to get better result.
Today, when the market has become so volatile, organization has to align their sales and marketing team to achieve their vision. Coordination between sales and marketing become mandatory to keep competition alive. Strong alignment between sales and marketing team can keep their competitors far away and produce results more effectively.
Sales at one hand know the current trends in market. They can direct marketing team to device strategies accordingly. Marketing at other hand always need to ask sales team to know what is happening in the market. Organizations, those achieve their annual budget always keep their sales and marketing team aligns.
